De rockband Chat Pile uit Oklahoma heeft het woord ‘subtiel’ niet uitgevonden. Met hun sterke 90’s invloed en hang naar de muziek van het Amphetamine Reptile platenlabel doen ze al snel denken aan bikkelharde jongens als Unsane, Cherubs, The Jesus Lizard als ook het meer recente Daughters. Om maar eerlijk te zijn, vernieuwing hoef je hier totaal niet te verwachten: agressieve cirkelzaag gitaren en zowel basgitaar als drums op standje betonmolen, met daarover de intense zang. De liefhebbers weten genoeg, andere luisteraars ook en kunnen zich maar beter wegsnellen. Is er dan niets dat de band onderscheidt? Jawel, ze presteren het nog cynischer te zijn dan hun genre genoten en...
