Wat een bijzonder talent is zanger/songschrijver Josiah ‘Serpentwithfeet’ Wise toch. Maakte de EP Blisters, in samenwerking met electronic held Haxan Cloak, bekend om de zo donkere ambient klanken, in 2016 al volop indruk. Met debuut album Soil, gemaakt met hiphop band Clams Casino, mmph en Katie Gately, intrigeert Wise nog veel meer. Dat muziekvernieuwers Kate Bush en Björk inspirerende invloeden hebben op vele nieuwe jonge artiesten mag duidelijk zijn. Wise is daar geen uitzondering op. Lekker eigenwijs creëert hij zijn eigen muzikale wereld en ook tekstueel laat hij weinig onbesproken.
