Het Nieuw Zeelandse Unknown Mortal Orchestra uit Portland met Ruban Nielson als stuurman heeft een veelzijdig karakter. Ze mixen hun psychedelische rock met alles wat voor handen is tot steeds weer een andere cocktail. IC-01 Hanoi is alweer hun vijfde album. 2018 is een zeer productief gebleken, na Sex & Food verschijnt nu de tweede release dit jaar. De inspiratie hiervoor is ontstaan en vorm gegeven in het Vietnamese Hanoi, waar de plaat is opgenomen tijdens de sessies van hun vorige album.
