Where The Action Is is een album dat je van The Waterboys mag verwachten. Juist omdat het zich niet laat voorspellen. Klassieke Waterboys? Kun je krijgen, maar wel zoals opper Waterboy Mike dat voor je bedacht heeft. En daarmee is het dus nooit gewoon klassiek. Het is heerlijk om te zien dat de band, meer dan dertig jaar na het debuut zichzelf is gebleven. Als liefhebber van The Waterboys weet je dat het nieuwe album van je favoriete band niet de zoveelste versie wordt van tot op het bot afgekloven en tot ellende toe gespeelde hits. The Waterboys nemen de vorm aan die zij willen, klinken zoals zij willen klinken. En dat is ook hier weer buitengewoon verrassend. Hoogstaande diversiteit en sterk uitgevoerd. Het belooft een mooi jaar te worden voor de liefhebbers van Mike Scott en de zijnen. Niet alleen is er het nieuwe werk, de band meldt zich straks ook weer in Nederland; iets om naar uit te kijken. Eerst maar eens genieten van het nieuwe album. Mooi dat het geworden is!
