De voorganger Down Hearted Blues was uitsluitend opgebouwd met  interpretaties van ouder blueswerk. Een stijl die Jewell goed afgaat dat geldt overigens ook voor country, folk en flarden authentiek rock ,de gevarieerde mix die eveneens haar eigen repertoire kruidt.  In haar evolutie als singer-songwriter wordt de zangeres en gitariste uit Boise, Idaho wel eens in één adem met Lucinda Williams en Gillian Welch genoemd. Het is bovenal de soepele, zwoele frasering die naar illustere bluesladys als Bessie Smith en Billie Holiday refereert  waarmee  Jewell  de aandacht opeist. Die authentieke touch vinden we telkens terug  in de sessies  met haar man en producer Jason Beek aan de drumkit en de geïnspireerde...
