Voor de afwisseling hebben we bij de Texanen van Cigarettes After Sex eens niet te maken met een melancholische act waarbij de zanger klinkt alsof hij jaren lang werkzaam bij de plaatselijke uitvaartmaatschappij is geweest. Het is allemaal niet zo zwaar en deprimerend. In zanger Greg Gonzalez gaat een romanticus schuil, die op poëtische wijze met zijn bijna vrouwelijke stemgeluid afdwingt om je in alle rust mee te laten slepen. Niet zozeer in weemoed en wanhoop, maar juist meer richting begeerte en hartstocht. Na hun debuut dat dezelfde naam als de band draagt, verschijnt twee jaar later deze opvolger. De verwachtingen zijn terecht hoog gespannen. Cry is sprookjesachtig, het verlangen...
