Het kan in de muziekbusiness raar lopen, zo wordt de ene band vrij snel publiekelijk grootst omarmd, en blijven anderen soortgelijke acts ver op de achtergrond voorzichtig hun fanbase opbouwen. Wolf Parade komt uit het culturele broeinest Montreal genaamd voort, waar Arcade Fire al snel te groot voor de stad wordt, en andere vergelijkbare acts hier sporadisch van meeprofiteren. De Canadezen brengen vanaf het Apologies to the Queen Mary debuut uit 2005 hun eerste drie albums telkens na een tussenpose van drie jaar uit.
