Spiral, het nieuwe album van DARKSIDE, het duurt misschien even voor je dit uniek schemerig universum z'n plaats zult weten te geven. Zo gaat dat bij groeiers, want sterk is deze nieuwe van het duo Nicolas Jaar en Dave Harrington zeker. Spiral, 't luistert als een lange, kronkelende, creatieve jam, een ondeelbare kunstige trip, 't is gevoel, 't is muziek waar je hele zelf wordt bijgetrokken. Onder snarengepingel valt de plaat verrassend slenterend bij je binnen. Narrow Road, onder een darkside-kosmische Floyd-hemel start percussie, stapvoets rustig, resolute tred, ijle gregoriaanse vocalen. Neemt dan 't elektrisch gejank van gitarist Harrington het over, domineren oriëntaalse atmosferen. Die wat donkere, treurende sfeer vloeit...
