The Bintangs hoorde ik voor het eerst tijdens mijn tienerjaren, de vlotte, door gitaar en harmonica aangedreven R&B van Ridin’On The L&N vormde niet zelden een uitbundig tweespan met Canned Heat’s Let’s Work Together in de plaatselijke jeugdclub. Het lekker rollende Travellin’In The USA passeerde ook in België wel eens op de officiële radiozenders en op de prille edities van Werchter, destijds nog onder de naam Rock & Blues Festival opererende, stonden de Beverwijkse rockers steevast op de affiches, in ‘75 als headliner, de volgende twee edities trokken ze op gang voor een alsmaar aangroeiend festivalpubliek. In ’79 keerden ze terug als vervanger van The Steve Gibbons Band. Het kwartet...
