Paul Cauthen leverde na een muzikale voorgeschiedenis met Texicana combo Son Of Fathers en een epeetje in samenwerking met Texas Gentlemen af Het uit 2016 daterende debuut My Gospel kreeg een even straffe opvolger. Room 41 refereerde naar een donkere, door drugs en ziekte verteerde turbulente periode een langspeler gevuld met getormenteerde countrysoul.
