Na twee succesvolle albums de muzikale bakens (wat) verschuiven is als band het beste wat je kunt doen. Door hun ‘oude’ sound op te frissen en te verdiepen laat het Londense Palace met hun nieuwe, sterke album Shoals horen een echte blijver te zijn. Misschien moeten we het idee van een lockdownplaat zo langzamerhand gewoon maar los gaan laten. De songs die muzikanten schreven tijdens de pandemie gewoon gaan zien als reflectief. Shoals is overduidelijk een plaat vanuit die perceptie geschreven en dan schiet de term lockdownplaat echt tekort. Met Shoals vindt de band zich muzikaal opnieuw uit. Met de zo herkenbare stem van Leo Wyndham als middelpunt presenteert Palace...
