Jeff Parker is een zich altijd opnieuw uitvindend gitarist, al vanaf de eerste dagen dat hij met zijn eigenzinnige spel de fameuze Chicago band Tortoise kwam versterken en zich groots aan de wereld presenteerde. Met twee, op het coole Chicago International Anthem label, verschenen soloalbums The New Breed (2016) en Suite for Max Brown (2020) maakte hij de afgelopen jaren  duidelijk een wonder op gitaar te zijn. Innovatie in alle facetten. Forfolks is zijn derde album voor het label (zijn zevende solo in totaal) en tevens zijn eerste waarop hij alleen met zijn gitaar te horen is.
