Het voorgaande album The Horror (2018) was prima, maar werd over het algemeen niet tot de beste platen van Konstantin Gropper, beter bekend als Get Well Soon, gerekend. De 39-jarige Duitser pakt op zijn zesde album wellicht mede daarom opvallend groots uit. De toon van het album is, ondanks de nogal zwaar aangezette muziek, ook optimistischer. Werd The Horror nog gevoed door angst, Amen straalt veel meer hoop uit. De afgelopen twee jaar deden Gropper doen inzien dat er - ondanks de crisis - toch ook weer veel te veel gezeurd en geklaagd werd.
