Destroyer is van oorsprong een Dan Bejar project, al kan Labyrinthitis zeker wel als een John Collins plaat beschouwen. Deze producer heeft hoe dan ook binnen het gezelschap een onmisbare actieve rol waar hij de uitvoerder van een veelvoud aan gitaarakkoorden, drumbeats, baslijnen en voorgeprogrammeerde synthesizers is. Doordat de bandleden genoodzaakt zijn om de partijen los van elkaar op te nemen, maakt hij het gedeelde afstandige geheel passend. Een lastige opgave, waarop hij zijn stempel drukt en de neurotische praatzang van Dan Bejar een schikkend raamwerk toedient.
