Hier nog wat zomerse hardcore vol gitaarwerk en rockpower voor je eerstvolgende trip richting exploderende uitgelatenheid. Inderdaad, daarvoor is er deze schitterende vijfde plaat van Alexisonfire. In de exploitatie van spierballen heeft Alexisonfire al een bijtende voorgeschiedenis die hen regelrecht tot founding fathers van de post-hardcore bracht. Nu, dertien jaar na hun laatste exploot Old Crows/Young Cardinals etaleert het Canadese vijftal, met z'n drie zangers, schreeuwer George Pettit, de wat gruiziger Wade MacNeil en de zachte cleansinger van Dallas Green, koorzanger bijna, dat ze nog geen greintje van hun krachtige identiteit hebben verloren, dat ze in hun uitstekende samenhang nog steeds geen decibel geforceerd klinken.
