Na het bepaald niet misselijke Open Door Policy uit 2021 en het bijzonder verdienstelijke soloalbum van Craig Finn, A Legacy of Rentals, het jaar daarna, trakteert het Hold Steady kamp ons alweer op een release. De band klinkt al jaren niet meer zo heftig als op de eerste albums maar aan kwaliteit heeft The Hold Steady niet of nauwelijks ingeleverd. Vooral sinds de terugkeer van toetsenist Franz Nicolay in 2016 zit de band weer op een solide spoor. De teksten van Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn zetten nog steeds veelal mensen centraal die in de problemen zijn geraakt, op het sociale vlak vastlopen, die teveel drinken, drugs nemen of aan...
