Na twee uitstekende EP’s verschenen op het coole Worm Discs is er dan nu eindelijk het echte debuutalbum van het Schotse corto.alto. Verschenen op het al net zo coole New Soil is Bad with Names een prikkelend, heerlijk tussen genres heen stuiterend, en even aanstekelijk als indrukwekkend debuut. Eigenlijk is corto.alto vooral Liam Shortall, een groot muzikaal talent dat ook als producer zijn naam maakte. Verrassend genoeg gestart als trombonist in het Scottish National Jazz Orchestra,  doorgegroeid via Tom McGuire & The Brassholes en AKU Trio werd zijn grote hart volledig gevoed.
