De albums van Adeem the Artist komen volgens het do it yourself principe tot stand. Door middel van crowdfunding financiert hij in 2021 zijn zevende studioalbum Cast-Iron Pansexual en opvolger White Trash Revelry. Een non-profit methode, welke tevens door tal van medewerkende muzikanten ondersteund wordt. Anniversary is kleiner, intiemer, persoonlijker. Dat het Adeem the Artist lukt om jeugdheld en glamrocker Butch Walker als producer in te palmen, spreekt misschien nog wel het meeste tot de verbeelding. Waar een gezamenlijk kopje koffie drinken eenvoudig toe kan leiden. Nu een artiest als Orville Peck zich vooral op de homoseksuele luisteraar richt, haakt de uit Knoxville, Tennessee afkomstige purist Adeem the Artist daar...
