Doordat de Britse regering in 2020 tijdens de pandemie het volk adviseert om zoveel mogelijk binnenhuis te blijven en zelf op feestjes helemaal los gaat, roept dit een aversie op. Men zit in een dwangbuis gevangen en uit die onvrede door illegale danceparty raves te organiseren. Deze opleving trekt ook Jamie xx aan, die zelf in de Second Summer of Love is geboren, en de opkomst van Acid House en de daarop volgende breakbeats nooit bewust heeft meegemaakt. Daar ligt de opkomst van pioniers als Bomb The Bass, The Prodigy en de Amerikaanse Moby, welke zijn punkverleden afzweert en zich overduidelijk op dance gaat richten.
