Ze bracht eerder hulde aan vader Ron die de Neilson Family Band destijds aanvoerde in Ontario, het samen met haar broer Jay gecomponeerde The First Man vormde samen met de verborgen track, de door vader gezongen demo de afsluiter van Don’t Be Afraid. Op de nieuwe vijfde langspeler Kingmaker van Tami Neilson is het met Willie Nelson gebrachte duet Beyond The Stars een emotioneel hoogtepunt. De naar Nieuw Zeeland uitgeweken zangeres componeerde de countryballade samen met haar gitarist en producer Delaney Davidson, die de voorganger Chickaboom! op de juiste tracks loodste.
