Van Octava, het tweede album van het uit Los Angeles afkomstige Phi-Psonics, bleven nog twee tracks over die niet op het album pasten maar die ze wel heel graag wilden uitbrengen. Morning Sun en Arrival worden nu als EP uitgebracht. Volledig in lijn met de warme sound die hun twee tot nu toe via het Manchester Gondwana Records verschenen albums kennen, vinden Morning Sun en Arrival hun meesterlijke weg. Bassist Seth Ford-Young saxophonist/fluitist Sylvain Carton, toetsenman Mitchell Yoshida (vooral elektrische piano) en drummer Josh Collazo hebben een fraaie chemie. Hun spirituele/meditatieve jazz kent vele muzikale kleuren en fijne lome ritmes waarbij Carton en Yoshida elkaar steeds in solo’s afwisselen. Morning...
