Een van de grootste verrassingen van dit jaar kunnen we zeker het debuut van het Australische Hiatus Kaiyote noemen. De muziek die de band uit Melbourne maakt stuitert van jazz en soul naar hiphop, triphop, world en electronic. De band noemt het zelf futuresoul en dat is een heel mooi gevonden term. De band werd in Melbourne gevormd vanuit de gedachten van singer-songwriter/zangeres Nai Palm die met de andere muzikanten in contact kwam omdat ze elkaar steeds bij verschillende muzikale sessies tegenkwamen.
